In-Clinic Diagnostic Test
Allergy Test (SPT - Skin Prick Test)
Identify exact triggers for allergic rhinitis, allergic asthma, and food sensitivities with painless, rapid gold-standard testing.
Why Skin Prick Testing (SPT) is the Gold Standard
Skin prick testing is the usual clinic method for confirming IgE-mediated allergy when sneezing, blocked nose, wheeze, or suspected food reactions keep returning. Dr Akhil Bansal places standardised extracts on the forearm and uses a light prick so each drop meets the skin; a small wheal within 15 to 20 minutes marks a positive reading. The test is brief, causes little discomfort, and does not need a blood sample. Panels commonly include grass and tree pollens, house-dust mites, cat and dog dander, moulds, and selected foods. Knowing the exact trigger helps separate allergic rhinitis from allergic asthma and guides avoidance and inhaler choice. Antihistamines are often paused before the visit so the result stays reliable. This allergy test in Jaipur is done at the Pratap Nagar diagnostic clinic.
